A day in the life......

Now the ladies have settled in, they seem to have a bit of routine going. First thing in the morning, we let them out of the coop into the run to have their breakfast, tasty layers pellets. They have a bit of a stretch and a cluck to let me know they are awake. A couple of hours later, we open the run door, to let them wander around the garden, to see what tasty tidbits have arrived overnight. They are very inquisitive and will scratch the ground when they find something interesting. They do tend to keep together and if one is absorbed in scratching, she'll suddenly look up to find the other two have moved on and she runs to catch them up! Around 2pm, they seem to wander back to the run of their own accord, to have a bit of a wash and brush up, then sit down on the grass for a bit of a rest before venturing out and exploring once more. Here's a couple of pictures of the wash and brush up procedure, two have their heads under their wings preening their feathers.
