St Ives Literature Festival
What’s it all about?
Internationally famous for its artistic connections, St. Ives hosts a full programme of literary events featuring writers and poets who descend on the town to share their love of words with locals and visitors alike.
Nine days of literature in St. Ives featuring book launches, poetry readings, workshops and open air events including poetry and prose readings, live music, comedy acts, creative writing workshops.
How can you take part?
With events taking place in venues close to the town centre, you can listen to poetry and music in Norway Square for free every day and for nominal admission fees listen to some of the UK’s established and upcoming authors and poets reading extracts form their work. There are also drop in workshops where you can learn more about how kick-start your own writing ambitions.
Did you know?
Virginia Woolf spent her childhood holidays in St Ives in the late 1800s. Godrevy Lighthouse across the bay is said to be the inspiration for her famous novel, To the Lighthouse published in 1927.
