Would you believe this was December 2016 and the beginning of January 2017 at Atlantic Coast? We had a full house on our touring pitches and the majority of our hire fleet were fully booked with the last guest leaving on the 7th January. The weather was mild, clear and sunny, the perfect weather for all including the surfers.
Plenty of walks taking in the breathtaking views and lovely fresh air were had by our Christmas and New Year visitors. Many of our guests brought along their dogs who could not get enough of playing and running in and out of the sand dunes, then onto the Dog Friendly beach at Upton Towans, stopping off at the local cafe and bars which had some delicious festive menu's.
This picture does not do the lovely sunsets and clear night skies justice, there have been some spectacular skies with one large bright star shining clearly every night including New Year's Eve! The walk onto the dunes just before midnight on New Year's Eve, was exhilarating with a great atmosphere from the many people who had gathered to watch the fireworks across the bay from Hayle where a local Pub had fireworks from their roof, along to Tregenna Castle in St Ives and finally an absolutely incredible display from the harbour in St Ives.
Many of our guests and owners certainly got into the Christmas spirit, decorating their static caravans, motor home's and mobile caravan's. Atlantic Coast certainly was vibrant over the Christmas and New Year period. There were lot's of place's to finish off that last minute Christmas shopping - local gift shops and farm shops so that our guests could experience some of the locally made gifts, fresh food and drinks.
Atlantic Coast is now closed until 1st March 2017. The phone lines are still open and the website has all of the information regarding prices and availability - www.atlanticcoastpark.co.uk or 01736 752071
