Garreg Goch Annual Fun Day
Despite the threat of rain, there were only one or two minor showers and so we had a good turn out. During the day there were various bouncy games for the children, a burger stall, and a tombola. The tombola was a huge success with lots of high quality items to win and was soon a total sell out!
In the evening we had music, dancing and the very much admired Nicola Stringfellow as vocalist. We had lots of donations for raffle prizes, amongst which was a free holiday (courtesy of Coastdale Parks) a family photography day, numerous bottles of various spirits and wines (always popular!), games, toiletry bags (made by myself!) sweets, chocolates etc. There were very many lucky people that day.
A grand total of £1213.36 was raised in aid of the Alex Hulme Foundation. Alex was a lovely boy, a regular visitor to his grandparents caravan at Garreg Goch. He sadly lost his fight against Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma three years ago, and since then our annual Fun Day has been held in his honour, to aid research into this very cruel cancer.
Thank you to everyone who helped on the day, all those who donated prizes, their time and their spirit to this worthy cause.
Kath and Alex
