Summer is here!

Just look at these delicious morsels of summeriness! Just picked from the raised bed in the back garden. There are still lots to come. Because of the chickens, we have had to put netting around the bed, and now I've started picking the strawberries, they soon worked out where they are coming from, because I throw the bruised and half eaten by slugs berries to them. Saffron kept trying to fly up and help, although she was trying to snaffle all the big ones for herself! Last night I made a batch of meringues to have with these strawberries. Any excess I will freeze and later make jam.

Who knows - I may have so many strawberries and extra jars of jam, I might start selling them in the shop!
