Betton Farm nestles in a hollow two miles inland from Scarborough, fringed by the forests and moorland of North Yorkshire.
Betton Farm is owned and run by Basics Plus, a registered charity and social enterprise providing employment opportunities for people with learning difficulties in the Scarborough area. Basics Plus acquired the Farm in 2010 and are busy upgrading the farm, adding additional facilities and amenities while retaining the attractions for which Betton has become a popular visitor destination.
The farm is a working farm with lots of animals, from horses, chickens, sheep, pigs and rabbits to the small aviary with cockatiels and budgies.
There is a onsite Bakery and Tea Room and Farm Shop.
The Honey Bee Visitors Centre on the farm is well worth a visit and the honey bee shop sells Yorkshire bee products from honey to soaps, creams and the famous Propolis.
Disability scooters are welcome and will be able to access many of the facilities.
